Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.
In short: the check is free and for information only. It shows what the official sources have on record at the moment you check, but it is not an official certificate and does not replace advice from a professional.
1.Who we are
This site is operated by Grupo Consultor JSRC, a company duly incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, with corporate ID (cédula jurídica) number 3-101-815282 and registered address in San José, Escazú, Trejos Montealegre, Costa Rica, which does business under the name JRC Consulting Group (hereinafter, “JRC”).
Any contractual relationship arising from the services offered on this site is entered into with that company. For any question about these terms you can write to us at info@jrc.cr or call us at 6055-6705.
2.Acceptance
Using the check and requesting contact from this site implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms.
3.What this site offers
A free check, with no sign-up, that brings together on a single screen, from an ID number:
- The status with the Ministry of Finance (Hacienda), checked live on its public service: registration, regime, economic activities and whether it is listed as a non-filer (omiso) or delinquent (moroso).
- The SME status, according to the public list of active SMEs (PYMEs) published by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC). That list is updated once a month, and the result shows the date of the version used.
- The obligations that generally apply based on what Hacienda has on record.
- Guidance for checking, on their official websites, the CCSS, FODESAF and Central Bank lookups that require a verification code.
- The option to ask a JRC advisor to contact you, or to message us on WhatsApp.
JRC may add, change or discontinue features of the site at any time.
4.Not a certificate or professional advice
The result is for information only. It is not a certificate or an official record, and it does not replace the documents issued by the Ministry of Finance, the CCSS or other entities to prove that a person or company is up to date.
The obligations shown are derived from general rules applied to what Hacienda has on record, and may not reflect every circumstance of a specific case. The result is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice, and it does not create any professional relationship between the user and JRC. Such a relationship is only formed by formally engaging our services.
Before making any decision based on the result, we recommend consulting a professional who knows the specific case. JRC is available to the user for that purpose. JRC accepts no responsibility for decisions made based on the informational content of the site.
5.Accuracy and timeliness of the information
The data is shown exactly as the official sources provide it at the moment of the check, without JRC changing it. Those sources may have delays, errors or outages beyond JRC’s control, and a person’s or company’s situation may change after the check.
When a source does not respond, the site says so and does not show a result in its place.
6.Lookups on official websites
Some lookups (the CCSS, FODESAF and the Central Bank) require a verification code and must be done directly on each entity’s official website. The site helps you copy your number and takes you to that page, but JRC does not access it on your behalf and does not know its result. Anything you then mark on the site stays on your screen only.
7.Permitted use of the site
The user agrees not to:
- Run checks in bulk or through robots, programs or other automated means, or systematically extract information from the site.
- Present the result as an official certificate or record, or alter it.
- Use the information obtained for unlawful purposes, to harass or discredit third parties, or to process personal data in breach of Law No. 8968.
- Provide false data in the contact request or impersonate third parties.
- Interfere with the normal operation of the site or circumvent its security controls.
JRC may restrict or block access for anyone who breaches these terms.
8.Contact requests and engagement
A contact request is not an engagement of services. A JRC advisor will contact you during business hours to learn about your case. The scope and price of any service are quoted separately, and the service is governed by the contract or engagement letter signed for that purpose.
The user agrees to provide truthful information. If you request contact regarding a person or company other than yourself, you declare that you act on their behalf or with their authorization.
9.Intellectual property
The texts, logo, brand and design of this site belong to JRC. The data shown comes from official public sources and belongs to the entities that publish it.
10.Links to third-party sites
The site links to external sites, such as those of the official entities, WhatsApp and jrc.cr. Third-party sites are governed by their own terms and policies; JRC is not responsible for their content or availability.
11.Site availability
JRC strives to keep the site available at all times. However, the check depends on third-party services, in particular the Ministry of Finance, and interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical failures or causes beyond its control, so uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
12.Personal data protection
The processing of the user’s personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy, drafted in accordance with Law No. 8968, Ley de Protección de la Persona frente al Tratamiento de sus Datos Personales.
13.Changes to these terms
JRC reserves the right to change these terms when the services offered or the applicable law change. Substantial changes will be communicated before they take effect. The date at the top shows the last update.
14.Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica.
In the event of any disagreement arising from these terms or the use of the site, JRC invites the user to submit a written complaint to info@jrc.cr. JRC undertakes to reply within ten business days of receipt, in order to seek a direct solution.
This prior step is voluntary and is not a requirement for going to the relevant judicial or administrative bodies. If no agreement is reached, the dispute may be submitted to the courts of the Republic of Costa Rica, in accordance with the applicable rules of jurisdiction.
Nothing in this clause limits or diminishes the rights that Law No. 7472, Ley de Promoción de la Competencia y Defensa Efectiva del Consumidor (Costa Rica’s consumer protection law), grants the user, or the user’s right to file a complaint with the Comisión Nacional del Consumidor of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce.
